A TRIP TO MONCAYO
On the 27th of April 1stE, 1stI and 1stC classes went to the Moncayo and we learnt lot of things about it.
It was declared Natural Park in 1927, but its boundaries weren't decided until 2007. The Natural Park is only the part of the Moncayo in Aragon, because the part in Soria is not protected. It is more rainy and sunny in the part in Aragon than in the other part and so, there are more vegetation and animals.
The vegetation is divided in different floors:
• 1st. Basal floor: It's the lower floor. There are trees like holm oak, bushes like coscojas and aromatic plants on it. The plants have got small and hard leaves because it rains not much and they need store rain water.
• 2nd. Montano floor: It's the medium floor. There are trees like beeches, oaks, wild pine-trees and birches (near the rivers). The plants' leaves are bigger and softer than basal floor plants' leaves because it rains more.
• 3rd. Subalpine floor: It's the higher floor. There are black pine-trees and some grass. There are a very little quantity of plants because the conditions for life are very bad.
There are lots of animals, some of they appear during daylight, like frogs, wild boar or roe deer; and others, at night, like foxes, bats and weasels.
